Olindo (Lindy) Marchi, age 87, of Durant, Oklahoma, passed away on Aug. 13. He was born on July 16, 1937, in Kemmerer, to Antonio Marchi and Mary Carollo.

Lindy graduated from Kemmerer High School in 1955 and went on to have a fulfilling career as a civil engineering technician. He dedicated 28 years to the U.S. Forest Service, working on the Bridger, Sawtooth, and Payette national forests. He also ran a sideline business building homes, and later worked for the Texas Highway Department in Dallas for seven years.

Lindy married his longtime love, Gail Rodden, in 1969, and together they shared 52 years of marriage. The couple cherished their life on a cattle ranch in Oklahoma, where they spent the last 30 years. Lindy’s passions included woodworking, hunting and fishing on the Grey’s River in Wyoming, activities he enjoyed with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Gail; their children, Ginger (Tim) Sinclair and Steve (Tamara) Marchi; his sisters, Linda (Bob) Blackstone and Lena (Al) Yusypchuk; his grandchildren, Ryan, Mackenzie, Laura, Josie, Tatiana and Ruby; and many aunts, uncles, nephews and cousins.

Lindy was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, whose memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
