Arthur “Art” Ray Junker June 14, 1944 – Aug. 2, 2024

Arthur Ray Junker, 80, a longtime resident of Las Vegas, passed away Friday, Aug. 2. Art was born June 14, 1944, in El Reno, Oklahoma, to Harry and Lorene Junker.

He grew up in Kemmerer, where he graduated high school. In 1963, his family moved to Las Vegas and soon after, Art returned to Oklahoma to attend Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology, where he earned an associate’s degree in industrial electronics.

He then served in the U.S. Army from August 1966 to August 1968.

Upon returning to Las Vegas, he pursued further education and earned a master’s degree in psychology from UNLV, and thereafter was employed by the CCSD as a licensed school psychologist until his retirement in 2011.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his brother, sisters, nephews and nieces.
