Wyoming Community Foundation donates to Hamsfork Museum

Posted

The Hamsfork Museum recently received a grant from the Wyoming Community Foundation for the historic preservation of the Hamsfork Museum. The money will be used to replace the roof that has been shingled multiple times with different colors and styles of shingles.

Some areas have been poorly patched, and heat escapes through these patched areas. The rain gutters do not keep the water away from the building, resulting in water eroding the brick and mortar. The lack of adequate rain gutters has also caused water seepage through some windows.

The Hamsfork Museum is a vital part of the Kemmerer/Diamondville communities and the opportunity to receive funding from the Wyoming Community Foundation is important to its future and its ability to serve our community.

Officials said they want to thank the Community Foundation for recognizing the importance of the museum and their role in building bridges of understanding and connecting with the past to better understand who we are and where we come from.
