Who's Your Neighbor: Dr. Alexis Scherr

KEMMERER — People walk among us around us and often as not we don’t even know their names, what matters to them or what brings them joy.

This feature’s  goal is to do exactly that, bring our many personalities together so we can know more and relate more to the people we see every day.

This week, I talked with Dr. Alexis Scherr, the head honcho at the Kemmerer Pharmacy.

Q: What was the most frightening moment of your life?

A: When my husband called to say my daughter had stopped breathing and was in an ambulance on the way to the hospital.

Q: What was the biggest “ah-ha” moment of your life

A:  I was meeting a friend at a restaurant for breakfast and then I realized I could also just order lunch.

Q: Who do you admire the most, that’s alive today?

A: My husband; even though he’s brash, he’s the kindest person I know.

Q: What is your deepest regret?

A: Not taking more time off to spend with family.

Q: What is something you’re afraid of?

A: Spiders, snakes, scorpions and IVs — like the kind you get at a hospital.

Q: What is the hardest thing you have ever had to do?

A: Deciding not to have any more children.

Q: Who is the wisest person you’ve ever known, dead or alive.

A: Grandmother Hunzie. She taught me so many things like how to ask questions, the nature of both hardships and joy.
