Western Wyoming Community College (Western) recently announced its 65th  anniversary celebration for Sept. 7, from 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. As a cornerstone of education in southwest Wyoming, Western has been empowering students for over six decades.

In celebration of this milestone, Western invites our communities to join in on the celebration and day of fun. The day will include a roller rink, live music, pickleball and cornhole tournaments, food trucks, fireworks, and more.

Those wanting to participate in the pickleball tournament will need to register by Sept. 3, the entry fee for pickleball is $25 per person. All proceeds go toward the cost of the tournament and any additional dollars will be donated to Western Wyoming College Foundation for scholarships.

Winners will receive cash prizes. All players must be eighteen years of age or older.  For further information about the tournaments and to register visit westernwyoming.edu/65anniversary.

The day offers a variety of events for attendees to enjoy. Event highlights also include a neon roller rink with equipment checkout available, face painting by theater students, free use of Western’s aquatic center, carnival games, fireworks, and more.

Western Pres. Dr. Kirk Young will serve a treat to the first 65 people in Western Commons from 2-3 p.m. Various local food trucks will be onsite for the event along with a beer garden in Western Commons for those 21 years and older.

Live music will take place throughout the day with Phony Stark Industries DJ-ing through the afternoon and Atlas Falls playing from 6:30-9 p.m.
