The Cokeville Panthers hosted their final regular season game on Nate-Dayton Field against the Bobcats of Thermopolis on Friday, Oct. 13. The first half was a defensive battle, as both sides had a difficult time getting much offense going.

Panthers tame Bobcats in final regular season home game, 35-6

The Cokeville Panthers hosted their final regular season game on Nate-Dayton Field against the Bobcats of Thermopolis on Friday, Oct. 13. The first half was a defensive battle, as both sides had a difficult time getting much offense going.

It was late in the second quarter when Jack Dayton finally found the end zone on a rushing play and, with a good PAT by Dayton, the score was 7-0. On the very next drive, Kayson Walker came up with a quick fumble recovery, followed by a great reception and run into the end zone again by Dayton. The PAT was good, and the Panthers were up 14-0.

The Panthers owned the second half coming up with three more touchdowns by Justin Moyes, Dayton and Walker. Kalob Haderlie had an interception and Kayson Walker picked up another fumble. The Bobcats found the end zone one time in the second half for a final score 35-6 for the Panthers.

Micah Petersen had 13 tackles and Ryder Pope had 12 with a pass breakup. Dayton rushed for 141 yards.

The Panthers will travel to Lyman on Thursday for their final game of the regular season.

Senior football players were recognized along with their parents prior to kickoff on Friday. Seniors include Andrew Jackman, Quintan Bird, Jethro Awtrey, Jack Dayton, Micah Petersen, Wyatt Mohn and Isaac Halls.
