“Rawlins was a great meet for us,” said KHS head coach Amanda Aimone. “We had multiple time cuts and great races.”

The Lady Rangers were led by strong performances from Kylie Price, who finished second in the 200 freestyle (2:14.38) and third in the 100 backstroke (1:11.75).

Tyler Thatcher also had a strong meet, placing sixth in the 100 freestyle (1:04.70) and seventh in the 200 individual medley (2:50.91).

Divers Kaylie Julander and Hanna Walker tried out some new dives on Saturday and both post 3A state-qualifying scores, with Julander placing fifth (271.50) and Walker sixth (269.80).

Other notable performances from Saturday’s meet included Kylee Batista in the 50 freestyle (8th, 29.04), Eva Hunter in the 100 backstroke (11th, 1:25.66) Arianne Dearden in the 100 freestyle (12th, 1:07.69) and Destiny Shepherd in the 100 backstroke (15th, 1:30.16).

“Tyler Thatcher, Destiny Shepherd and Arianne Dearden really had great meets,” Aimone said. “The divers — Hanna Walker and Kaylie Julander — also [executed] multiple new dives, and executed them like they were veterans.”
