The Lady Panthers headed to Riverton over the weekend for the 1A West Volleyball tournament. They came in as the No. 1 seed from the Southwest to face the No. 4 seed from the Northwest, Meeteetse.

The Lady Longhorns were no match as the Lady Panthers won in three quick sets, 25-13, 25-11, 25-15. This win advanced the Lady Panthers to the semifinals against the Lady Panthers of Saratoga.

Again, it was a fairly easy win as the ladies won in three sets, 25-19, 25-12, 25-12.

The Lady Panthers headed to the championship match against the Lady Rattlers of Little Snake River. The two teams split the regular season play with each winning at home. The winner of this match would go into the state tournament with a No. 1 seed.

It was a dog fight to the finish. The first set went to the Lady Rattlers 21-25. The Lady Panthers fought back to win the second 25-18. The third set went back to the Lady Rattlers 19-25. The battle continued in the fourth with the Lady Panthers squeaking out the win 26-24.

This sent the match into a fifth and final set. It was a battle back-and-forth, but it was the Lady Panthers who got the huge win, 15-12, along with the region crown.

They will face Guernsey-Sunrise, on Thursday at 6 p.m., in the Ford Wyoming Center in Casper.
