Two Kemmerer wrestlers competed at the Western States Wrestling Tournament in Pocatello, Idaho, from June 18 to 20.
Kemmerer High School seniors Hayden Walker and Donny Proffit wrestled folkstyle, freestyle and Greco against kids from the western United States.
Hayden Walker wrestled a great tournament, earning the outstanding wrestler award for the folkstyle tournament. Walker also won the Greco tournament and placed 2nd in the freestyle. Hayden wrestled a total of 15 matches over the three days.
Hayden is currently training for the Junior Nationals in Fargo, North Dakota, from July 12 to 20.
Donny Proffit wrestled a great tournament in Pocatello, finishing the week with nine matches. Donny wrestled to a 4th place finish in the freestyle and brought home a second place finish in the folkstyle.
