Virgil A. Schultz, 94, of Rapid City, South Dakota, passed away on April 8. He was born on March 10, 1923, in Rock Springs, to Dr. F. J. Schultz and Louise (Thum) Schultz.
He graduated from Rock Springs High School and entered the Army during WWII, participating in the “Battle of the Bulge.”
He married Bernice Ochs in 1946, and they enjoyed 70 years of marriage. They had a son, Richard, who preceded him in death.
Virgil retired from Williams, in Opal, in 1984. He built a house in Pinedale, where they lived for a number of years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid snow skier. He was a ski patrol leader in Pinedale.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice; a granddaughter Lauren; a great-granddaughter; and a brother, John.
