Vernon Leslie Biebinger passed away Sunday, July 11.

He was born Nov. 4, 1935, to William Stratman and Florence S. Phipps in Chinook, Montana. At the age of 9, he went to live with Jack and Mildred Biebinger, who later adopted him.

He grew up on a ranch behind Chinook. He married Melvina Rose Stevenson in 1954. They later divorced and he moved to Kemmerer in the late 1960s. He met Cynthia Simonson, and they married on Feb. 24, 1973. They resided in Kemmerer until he retired in 1997 from the coal mine, after 28 years.

They moved to Havre, Montana, to spend their retirement years. In 2020, he returned to Wyoming to spend the remainder of time to be close to some of his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, traveling and the company of family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia Biebinger; his parents, Jack and Mildred Biebinger; his daughter, Rhonda Stanley; son, Gary Biebinger; stepson, Robert Bolan; and great-grandson, Brandstin Biebinger.

Vernon is survived by his son, Vernon Biebinger Jr. of Utah; son, Leslie (Sherry) Biebinger of Evanston; Larry Biebinger of Minnesota, Jack Biebinger of Montana; daughter, Agnus Salon of Montana; son, David (Rebecca) Biebinger of Evanston; daughter, Darla Biebinger Peterson of Evanston; stepchildren, Rick (Deanne) Bolan of Oregon, John (Cindy) Bolan of Wyoming, Brenda (Jake) Knoll of Rock Springs and Ron (Danielle) Bolan of Montana.

He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and all those who called him Dad and friend.

A celebration of life was held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 17, at the Knights Inn in Evanston.
