A truck drove off the road into a garage in Diamondville on Friday, Feb. 23, just past the intersection of West Hillcrest and Spring Valley Drive.

The Diamondville Police responded to the crash on Friday at 5:05 p.m. EMS and firefighters also responded to the scene of the crash.

According to Diamondville Police Chief Mike Thompson, two children and an adult female were in the home at the time of the accident, but were not injured.

“The driver had very minor injuries. Both airbags deployed, and the driver was wearing his seatbelt,” Chief Thompson said. “We did issue the driver four citations.”

The truck broke through a cement barrier, a chain link fence and a wooden fence before crashing into the garage.

According to Chief Thompson, no alcohol was involved. Thomspon also said that after the accident, the driver told the police he fell asleep or blacked out and didn’t remember the incident.

Chief Thompson estimated that the driver was driving at a speed of about 45 to 55 mph.

“It did a lot of damage,” Chief Thompson said. “There was a classic ’68 Chevy in the garage that the truck hit, as well as a four wheeler, not to mention the damage to the barriers and the garage.”
