The Kemmerer girls swim team placed 12th at the 3A state competition on Nov. 6-7 in Laramie. The girls were up against 12 other teams. The final standings are as follows:
1. Green River High School
2. Cody High School
3. Powell High School
4. Buffalo High School
5. Lander
6. Lyman High School
7. Sublette County Swim Team
8. Worland Warriors
9. Douglas High School
10. Rawlins High School
11. Newcastle Dogies
12. Kemmerer High School
13. Riverton High School
Overall, Kemmerer scored 18 points at the 3A state competition. The Kemmerer swim team swam well.
In the 200-yard medley relay, the Kemmerer team featuring Nadia Runnion, Sophie Failoni, Arianne Dearden and Cheyann Roose placed 10th with a time of 2:15.03.
In the 200-yard I.M., Amelia Despain placed eighth with a time of 2:29.71.
In the 100-yard freestyle, Amelia Despain placed 12th with a time of 1:00.56.
In the 200-yard freestyle relay, the Kemmerer team featuring Amelia Despain, Tyler Thatcher, Makenzee Teuscher and Kylie Price placed 12th with a time of 1:54.11.
In the 400-yard freestyle relay, the Kemmerer team featuring Amelia Despain, Tyler Thatcher, Makenzee Teuscher and Nadia Runnion placed 11th with a time of 4:16.58.
