Swim competes in conference finals


The Kemmerer swim team competed in the 3A West conference finals. Kemmerer competed in Pinedale against Green River, Lyman and Sublette County. Scores were combined with the meet in Lander that featured Lander, Powell and Riverton.

In the 200-yard medley relay, the Kemmerer team with Laurel Clarke, Sophie Failoni, Arianne Dearden and Kylie Price placed eighth with a time of 2:19.02.

In the 200-yard freestyle, Makenzee Teuscher placed 15th with a time of 2:21.01. Cheyann Roose placed 23rd with a time of 2:36.30. Arianne Dearden placed 25th with a time of 2:43.73.

In the 200-yard IM, Amelia Despain placed sixth with a time of 2:32.19.

In the 50-yard freestyle, Tyler Thatcher placed 12th with a time of 28.45. Kylie Price placed 19th with a time of 29.56. Madi Smith placed 29th with a time of 48.12.

In 1-meter diving, Laurel Clarke placed ninth with a score of 251.70. Sophie Failoni placed 16th with a score of 193.40.

In the 100-yard freestyle, Amelia Despain placed ninth with a time of 1:00.99. Makenzee Teuscher placed 13th with a time of 1:02.99. Nadia Runnion placed 17th with a time of 1:04.80. Tyler Thatcher placed 21st with a time of 1:05.74. Kylie Price placed 27th with a time of 1:09.57.

In the 500-yard freestyle, Arianne Dearden placed 20th with a time of 7:06.52.

In the 200-yard freestyle relay, the Kemmerer team with Amelia Despain, Tyler Thatcher, Makenzee Teuscher and Kylie Price placed sixth with a time of 1:54.97.

In the 100-yard backstroke, Nadia Runnion placed 11th with a time of 1:12.79. Cheyann Roose placed 22nd with a time of 1:24.98. Madi Smith placed 28th with a time of 2:13.79.

In the 100-yard breaststroke, Sophie Failoni placed 17th with a time of 1:25.64.

In the 400-yard freestyle relay, the Kemmerer team with Amelia Despain, Tyler Thatcher, Makenzee Teuscher and Nadia Runnion placed sixth with a time of 4:19.22. The Kemmerer team with Laurel Clarke, Arianne Dearden, Cheyann Roose and Madi Smith placed 13th with a time of 5:26.20.

Overall, Kemmerer High School came in sixth place out of seven with a score of 70 points.
