The South Lincoln Special Cemetery District Board hosted a retirement party for Kathy Slovernick, who served as superintendent of the district for 24 years. Kathy Slovernick retired after 24 years serving as the Superintendent for the South Lincoln Special Cemetery District on Thursday, March 22.
The South Lincoln Cemetery Board surprised Slovernick with a farewell party complete with cake and a large metal Wyoming Cowboy silhouette signed by everyone.
Kathy also received a bouquet filled with gag retirement gifts. Board Chairman Allan Harwood thanked Kathy in a speech in which he highlighted her many years of hard work, dedication and excellent customer service.
“I really appreciate this,” Slovernick said. “It really means a lot.”
Kathy plans to move to Richfield, Utah, to live on her family farm and enjoy the warmer weather.
Shannon Rickert will take Slovernick’s place as the new superintendent.
“You are leaving behind a legacy,” said Bill Thek. “We are all going to miss you.”
