Ruby Fay Miller, age 82, passed away at her home in Opal, on Thursday, May 21.

She was born in Jasper, Alabama, on Oct. 12, 1937, the daughter of James Henry and Ella Mae (Banks) Downey.

Throughout her life, Ruby enjoyed dancing, as well as playing the slot machines. She also enjoyed traveling and shopping at western wear stores and going to secondhand thrift stores. 

She and her companion, Ray Terkelson, enjoyed spending more than 30 years together. She was so fond of her canine companions, Snowball and Bandit.

Ruby is lovingly survived by her longtime companion, Ray Terkelson, of Opal; a daughter, Deborah Santoyo of El Monte, California; a daughter, Vickey Davenport of Pegram, Tennessee; and a son, Donald Ray Skipper, of Pegram, Tennessee. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Janie and Gladys.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and three sisters.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Ball Family Chapel, Kemmerer.
