Robert (Bob) Stock

Robert (Bob) Stock died on October 2, 2017, in Hamilton, Montana. Bob was born to Ray and Minnie Stock in Kemmerer on Dec. 15, 1924. He grew up on the family ranch in the Upper Hamsfork Valley.

Bob attended Kemmerer High School and graduated with the class of 1943. He was a combat infantry veteran of World War II, where he served as an Automatic (BAR) rifleman in Patton’s Third Army in Europe. He was awarded the Bronze Star.

After his honorable discharge in 1946, Bob returned to the ranch until 1953, when he and his brother Ray Jr. moved to Las Vegas. 

There Bob married Dolores Parent, a Kemmerer girl, in 1955.  In 1971 he and his family moved to Colorado, where Bob worked for the U.S. Forest Service. He retired in 1982 and moved to Western Montana’s Bitterroot Valley.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his life-long best friend and brother Ray Jr.

Bob is survived by Dolores, his cherished wife of almost 62 years; a daughter, Joy Lynn Bennett and her fine family of Price, Utah; and nephews Gary and Dennis Stock of Las Vegas.

As per Bob’s wishes, cremation has take place without services. His ashes are to be scattered in his beloved Rocky Mountains. Arrangements are under the care of the Daly-Leach Chapel in Hamilton.
