KEMMERER —There will be a Wyoming Hunter Education Course, beginning January 30 through February 10, at the Kemmerer High School.
Instructor Annemarie Albins said the five-day class consists of Tuesday and Thursday classes for two weeks from 6:15 to 8:30 p.m. and one Saturday session from 8:30 to 2:30 p.m.
Students must attend all five days of class to receive certification.
The course is the traditional 14-hour course and not the online Internet Field Day.
Pre-registration for the course is required online at the Game and Fish website: wgfd.wyo.gov.The cost is $10.00 per student.
Students younger than age 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Please bring a lunch to class on Saturday, Feb. 10, and dress for the winter weather, as some of the activities might be outside.
Students are required to take notes and bring their student manuals to class all five days.
A firearms field test, with no live rounds, as well as a written test will be administered for certification.
Students who fail either test may retake the course at a later date, as many times as needed.
Do not bring any firearm to the class. All materials and equipment will be provided to students.
