Rangers swim at Lyman against Sublette County

The Kemmerer Ranger boys’ swim team competed at Lyman on Friday, Jan. 11. The Rangers swam against Sublette County and Lyman. Sublette County finished the meet in first place with 154 points, Lyman finished with 111 points, and Kemmerer earned 88 points.
In the 100-yard breaststroke, sophomore Brayden Dearden earned first place with a time of 1:13.69. Junior Grady Killian finished in second place with a time of 1:14.49. Killian also earned second place in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:16.80. Noah Hankin finished fifth in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:20.29.
Junior Benjamin Wergin swam to a second-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:05.88. Michael Clarke finished fifth in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:20.43. In the 200-yard freestyle race at Lyman, Hankin was 2nd with a time of 2:28.50, Matt Garver was fifth with a time of 2:39.78, and Clarke finished in 8th place.
The team of Clarke, Killian, Collin Smith and Raydin Scigliano earned 3rd place in the 200-yard medley relay. The Kemmerer team of Wergin, Dearden, Hankin and Tanner Brown finished fourth in the relay.
Smith, Killian, Garver and Clarke took third place in the 400-yard freestyle relay at Lyman.
In the 100-yard freestyle, Smith finished in 3rd place with a time of 1:01.72 and Garver took 6th place with a time of 1:11.42. Scigliano finished 3rd in the diving event.
In the 50-yard freestyle, Dearden swam to a fourth-place finish with a time of 26.19, Smith was 6th, and Brown was 10th. Scigliano finished 5th and Brown finished 6th in the 500-yard freestyle.
Wergin placed fourth in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:35.85.
The Rangers will swim at Lyman again on Friday, Jan. 18, then at Green River on Saturday, Jan. 19.
