The Kemmerer Rangers boys’ basketball team has fought hard so far this season, but is still looking for its first win of the season after coming up short at the first Fossil Country Classic basketball tournament in Kemmerer on Friday, Jan. 4, and Saturday, Jan. 5.
The weekend losses brought the Rangers to 0–10 on the season.
On Friday, Jan. 4, the Rangers played Cokeville and lost 59–41. Later on Friday, the boys faced off against Farson-Eden and lost 59–48.
On Saturday, Jan. 5, the Rangers played Evanston’s J.V. team to kick off the second day of the tournament. The Rangers fell to the J.V. Red Devils 78–58.
The last game of the tournament was the closest for the Rangers who lost to Little Snake River 46-43 in the final seconds of the game.
The Kemmerer Rangers will travel to Pinedale to take on the Wranglers on Friday, Jan. 11, with the J.V. boys’ game at 4:00 p.m. and the varsity contest to follow at 7:00 p.m. on Friday night.
On Saturday, Jan. 12, the Rangers host Farson-Eden, with the boys' J.V. game at noon and the boys' varsity game at 3:00 p.m.
Next week, the Rangers play at Wind River on Friday, Jan. 18, at 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., and at Shoshoni on Saturday, Jan. 19, at noon and 3:00 p.m.
