Firefighters continue to manage the Pole Creek Fire, reinforcing and advancing containment lines where possible while monitoring hot spots in inaccessible areas. Helicopters are used to cool these areas when safe and effective. Managers have prioritized containment lines that steer the fire away from structures and other areas of value.
Tuesday and Wednesday were transition days for the managers of the fire. The Southern and Western Wyoming Incident Management Team 1 (Taylor) took over command from Team 3 (Steffans). Incident Management Teams oversee the firefighting effort while providing logistical support, financial oversight, and planning to support the operation.
