Date of Detection: August 4, 2017

Location: 25-miles northwest of Kemmerer, WY
Cause: Human Caused
Containment: 35%
Resources on Fire: There are currently 361 personnel on this incident, including the following resources:

  • Type 1 Helicopters (Heavy): 1
  • Type 2 Helicopters (Medium): 2

Despite working in steep and rugged terrain, fire crews have been able to safely complete both direct and indirect line on the southern edge of the fire. Over the next few days, crews will focus on gridding along the line in order to make sure it is secure.

Yesterday crews were able to utilize helicopters to help contain remaining hotspots. Spike camp was successfully dismantled and all crews are now staged from the Incident Command Post, located at the South Lincoln Training and Events Center.

Warmer and drier conditions are expected within the fire vicinity over the next few days and into the weekend.

While the weather has a chance to increase fire behavior, it is expected to remain light or moderate with interior burning and some possible isolated torching with minimal area growth.
