Phillip Yorgensen

Phillip Yorgensen,  after a long battle with cancer passed away at his home in Bakersfield, Calif., on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2020, at the age of 63.  Phil was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on May 30, 1956, to Marge and Trent Yorgensen.  When he was six his family moved to Kemmerer, where he was raised and attended school.  He graduated from Kemmerer High School and went on to get a degree from the University of Utah, after which he returned to Kemmerer and worked for Chevron at the Kemmerer mine.  He received a Master of Science degree from the University of Phoenix in Information Systems in 2003. He married Kathy Jo Cameron on July 1, 1995.  Phil transferred with Chevron to Bakersfield, Calif., where he remained until his death.  Phil’s passions were his family, his dogs, fishing, hunting, camping and spending time in his pool. 

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Jo, of Bakersfield, Calif.; daughters Terra Yorgensen of Eugene, Oregon; Rian Yorgensen of Longmont, Colo.; Jennifer Call of Williston, N.D.; son Nathaniel Yorgensen of Connecticut; five grandchildren; sisters Janie (Darrell) Alder and Debbie (Mike) Stefonick of Kemmerer, Peggy Kolata of Gillette; brother Andy (Mary) Yorgensen of Rosharon, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.  Phil was preceded in death by his grandparents, his parents Marge and Trent Yorgensen, and his sister Kathy Rosas.

Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and there are no services planned at this time.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to favorite charities.
