Peternal receives All-Conference, All-State honors for football season

AQ Peternal was awarded with both All-Conference and All-State honors by the Wyoming coaches association for his 2020 football season. Head coaches in every conference vote on the players to receive All-Conference honors. From the first-team All-Conference players, the All-State football honors are chosen by the coaches. Matt McMillan and Riggen Walker were also awarded All-Conference for the 2020 season by the Wyoming Coaches Association.

This isn’t Peternal’s first time with these honors, however. He has been awarded All-Conference all four years of high school and All-State twice.

“I’m just proud to be a Ranger,” Peternal said. “It’s an honor to be a part of this family.”

Since he is a senior, Peternal plans to attend South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and play football. In the spring, Peternal said he will host a signing event for friends and family to watch him commit to the team in South Dakota. Peternal is planning on studying agriculture business or mining engineering. He says he would love to work on cattle ranches after college.

Peternal has been playing football since third grade and said he has been watching it even longer. Peternal said he would like to thank the community for their support of all athletics.

“[Being a senior] makes me reflect on the lessons learned in football and how it made me a better person,” Peternal said. “You are a Ranger the rest of your life no matter where you go.”
