The Cokeville Panthers basketball team traveled to Pinedale on Friday, Jan. 5, and Saturday, Jan. 6, for a tournament. Their first game on Friday was against the Kemmerer Rangers. The Panthers defeated the Rangers 58–38. Andrew Thomas had 14 points and 10 rebounds. Matt Thomas had 13 points. Jake Harmon had 11 points and Tristan Nate had seven rebounds.
Friday evening the Panthers faced the hometown Wranglers of Pinedale. The Wranglers jumped out to an early lead. The Panthers outscored the Wranglers in the second half but it was not enough, and Cokeville lost 67–42. Andrew Thomas had 17 points and four rebounds. Jake Harmon also had four rebounds.
The Panthers’ final game of the tournament was on Saturday when they faced the Punchers of Big Piney. The Panthers got a big lead in the first half. It was a close battle in the second half, but the Panthers won 58–54. Andrew Thomas had 18 points, Matt Thomas had 14 and Seth Toomer had 10. The Panthers will head to Encampment and Saratoga this week to start conference games.
