The Town of Opal participated in the Adopt-a-Highway clean-up project on Saturday, May 26. A lot of garbage accumulates along the two-mile stretch of US Highway 30 over the winter, so Opal residents helped clean up. Mayor Anthony Ritzdorf and the town council organized the effort, as well as the picnic at Town Hall after the event. Participants included Ted Roose, Willa Roose, Cheyann Roose, Rob Chapin, Laura Gerber, Nevaeh Gerber, Jackie Larnen, Tony Ritzdorf, Maxine Ritzdorf, Amanda Ritzdorf, Alexandria Ritzdorf, Paul Palmer and Sandra Palmer.
