The North Eden Fire, which is southwest of Cokeville and east of Bear Lake, Utah, was fully contained as of Tuesday, August 21, according to Courtney Whiteman with the BLM.

Blaine Potts of the Bureau of Land Management Kemmerer Field Office said the fire has burned 13,763 acres on the borders of Wyoming, Utah and Idaho,

The North Eden Fire started on Thursday, August 16.

Potts said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

“The full fire report with the investigation results should be released in a few weeks,” Potts said.

Over the weekend the Kemmerer BLM office was fighting the fire in coordination with he State of Utah and Idaho, the U.S. Forest Service and local county resources.

As the firefighting crews approached a full containment of the fire, the efforts were scaled back.

“The fire is back in control of the local resources,” Potts said. “We have started rehab of some areas and are working on mopping up a few spots.”
