The Kemmerer High School chapter of National Honor Society held an induction ceremony for new members on Tuesday, Nov. 14, in the KJSHS auditorium.

NHS President Louis Failoni conducted the ceremony.

Current NHS members spoke about the qualities that define a member of the National Honor Society — character, leadership, scholarship and service.

“Leaders have their entire heart in whatever they are doing,” said Brandon Crank of leadership.

“Service is needed now more than ever, even in our little town,” said Madison King of service.

Senior Juanita Escareno presented the inductees with their certificates.

New members inducted at the ceremony were Eli Erickson, Tanner Plowman, Joseph McRoberts and Cyrus Skidmore.

Keynote speaker Greg Gray reminded the inductees that they had been given special gifts, and “how you make a difference with those gifts is how you show your gratitude.”

“Congratulations on being here and having the grades and other qualities to get you here,” Gray said. “But what you do next is what really matters.”
