CHEYENNE –  WAM (Wyoming Association of Municipalities) is celebrating its 50th anniversary along with Wyoming’s state flag’s 100th anniversary. These milestones will be highlighted during the annual WAM Convention in Gillette, May 31 – June 2, 2017.

Municipal leaders from around the state will convene for networking and training opportunities on topics that are impacting Wyoming’s municipalities.  Attendees will also have the chance to meet with municipal services providers during the convention’s Exhibit Show.

Kicking off with the opening session, U.S. Senator Mike Enzi and U.S. Representative Liz Cheney will provide an update on their efforts in D.C. to help ensure the energy market gets back on track in Wyoming.

Nearly 70% of Wyoming citizens live in cities and towns. WAM’s mission is to advocate on behalf of Wyoming’s cities and towns common interests and provide educational opportunities for its members. Convention information is available on WAM’s Website, wyomuni.org.

“As the President of WAM I’m pleased to represent an organization that is a networking system for cities and towns around the State that allows municipal leaders to talk and help each other out as well as get things done at the state level,” said WAM President Paul Brooks, Mayor, Sundance. “All of us are stronger together than any one of us alone.”
