It is with great sadness that the family of Matthew George Vickery announces his passing. Matthew was involved in an ATV accident on July 14, 2018.
Matthew was born on a hot summer day on July 14, 1989, in Ogden, Utah, to Mark Robert and Margaret Irene (Thoman) Vickery.
As a young boy growing up fast, Matthew was known by many as either “Matty” or “George.” He loved to work hard, especially if he knew it would benefit someone else. If there was any time left in the day or week, he spent it outside, no matter the weather or season. He learned at a very young age to love family, hard work, serving others and embracing the beauty of our great nation. If you knew “George,” he had probably helped you in some way. You may have even been fortunate enough to participate in some kind of outdoor activity with him, or you would have at least heard about it later!
Matthew was kind, sensitive, and could light up any room with his bright, gorgeous smile. He had a huge heart and shared it with everyone. The day he met Emilee Paige Hinson, she took his heart and filled it to the brim. She made Matthew happy and completely in love. Matt and Emilee were engaged to be married on September 8, 2018. They were making big plans and living the dream. They had great expectations for the future.
Matt is survived by his fiancé Emilee Hinson and parents Mark and Margaret Vickery of Kemmerer. He is also survived by siblings Michelle Gurney, Melissa Lawson, Michael Vickery, Monte Vickery and Madison Vickery, his grandmother Bernice Thoman and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Matt is preceded in death by his grandparents George Melvin Vickery, Lorraine Vickery, and Virgil Henry Thoman, as well as his cousin Anton John Elmlinger.
Services will be held on Friday, July 20, 2018, at the LaBarge LDS Chapel at 11:00 a.m. A viewing for his family and many friends will be from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Family prayer will be at 10:45 a.m. Online condolences may be left at ballfamilychapel.com.
