The Kemmerer Operations Mine Rescue Team recently attended a four-day conference hosted by Rocky Mountain Coal Mining Institute in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. The team consists of 23 members total and 10 were selected to attend.
This conference is a competition that draws participants across the region to compete in mine rescue skills and training. The teams face four days of intense scenarios and receive coaching on how to improve from a panel of experts. This year’s team of performed outstanding in all fields.
They exhibited exemplary knowledge and professional mine rescue conduct, achieving at least 100% or above in all categories of First Aid, Trauma, Confined Space, Hazmat, and High & Low Angle Rope Rescue.
