Left: Diamondville Museum Committee members Jeanne Horsburgh, Susan Hunzie and Charlene Smith, and local artist Jake Parks at one of the newly-repainted signs in Diamondville’s Miners Park. Hunzie said the Diamondville Museum Committee was originally formed to create a museum, but after realizing the committee would not be able to raise the necessary funds or interest, they decided to use what had already been collected to do something positive for the town. The group commissioned local artist Jake Parks to repaint several signs in Diamondville. The Diamondville streets and parks crew took down the signs and replaced them after Parks was finished with the project. The group said they were happy with the updated signs because they are dynamic and add some color to the town. (GAZETTE PHOTO / Theresa Davis)
