Lions Club hosts 35th Ice Fishing Derby

Shaun Painter holds his 20.25” fish at the 35th annual Lions Club Ice Fishing Derby on Saturday, Feb. 16. Michel Corgiat of Sunset, Utah, won the overall biggest fish at the weekend derby (23.24”), Joey Antilla of Kemmerer won the women’s overall big fish (20.25”) and Jayden Mills of Evanston won the Youth overall big fish (19.25”).

The Kemmerer Lions Club hosted its 35th annual Ice Fishing Derby on Lake Viva Naughton on Saturday, Feb. 16, and Sunday, Feb. 17.

2019 Overall Winners:

• Overall Big Fish: Michel Corgiat (Sunset, Utah) $1,000 with a 23 1/4” fish

• Women’s Overall Big Fish: Joey Antilla (Kemmerer): $150 with a 20 1/4” fish

• Youth Overall Big Fish: Jayden Mills (Evanston): $150 with a 19 1/4” fish 

Saturday Daily Prizes

• First Daily Big Fish: Kristy Smith (Kemmerer): $300 with a 22” fish

• Second Daily Big Fish: Trinity Kofoed (Kemmerer): $200 with a 21 1/2” fish

Sunday Daily Prizes

• First Daily Big Fish: Corey Sawley (Midvale, Utah): $300 with a 21” fish

• Second Daily Big Fish: Tied - Tyler Sims (Montpelier, Idaho)  /Ken Nishi (Kemmerer): $100 each with a 20 3/4” fish

• 8:00 hour: Kristy Smith (Kemmerer): $100 with a 22” fish

Kristy Smith’s fish (22”) was the first catch of the derby on Saturday, and also won the biggest catch of Saturday.
