It’s time again for the Lincoln County Fair. This year’s theme is “Footloose at the Lincoln County Fair.” The events at the fairgrounds in Afton start on Saturday, August 4, and the last day of the County Fair is Saturday, August 11.
Whether you’re competing for a blue ribbon, showing and selling livestock, or just looking for a good time listening to music, watching the rodeo and enjoying a carnival ride, the Fair has something for everyone.
Kemmerer and Diamondville should be well represented at the Lincoln County Fair. Several local kids will be showing their animals, and the community booth will feature projects by locals competing for first place in a variety of categories.
On Saturday, August 4, the festivities kick off with a Classic Car Show and the Parade. That night country star Joe Nichols will perform.
Monday, August 6, sees the first rounds of livestock shows with the 4-H / FFA horse show. Guests can enjoy music by Pierce Avenue. Also on Monday’s agenda is Montana Clown Works, Juggling by Jeremiah Johnston, Robo Cars and Illusionist Chris Yerlig. The EnduroCross motorbike event closes out Monday night.
On Tuesday, August 7, county kids can show their animals in the rabbit show and the poultry show. The carnival midway attractions are open on the fairgrounds with vendors and rides. Other entertainment on Tuesday includes the Arctic Olympic Games High-Dive show, UV speed painter Ricardo Alonzo, and the highly anticipated Ninja Warrior Competition.
On Wednesday, August 8, the morning starts with the swine show and the dairy goat show. The horse pulls finish off Wednesday’s events.
The open horse show and swine show are on Thursday, August 9. The band 20 Paces will perform on Thursday. Freestyle reining closes out Thursday’s activities.
Friday, August 10, is the market goat show and sheep show. Kemmerer band Spare Parts will perform under the Big Top. The PRCA rodeo on Friday night brings some cowboy tradition to the fair.
Saturday, August 11 is the big finale of the Lincoln County Fair. The 4-H / FFA Livestock sale is in the morning. Music is provided by the Greg Simpson Band. Saturday night is the final night of the PRCA rodeo.
