“Libraries store the energy that fuels the imagination. They open up windows to the world and inspire us to explore and achieve, and contribute to improving our quality of life.” - author Sidney Sheldon

National Library Lover’s Month is celebrated the whole month of February as a way to honor libraries and the amazing services libraries offer their communities. Many people would say they love the library because of the books! The Lincoln County Library System has all kinds of books available, as well as ways to request books we don’t have through interlibrary loans.

In addition to books, many of our library branches offer magazines, movies, and board and card games you can check out. The library branches have computers and internet access, as well as spaces to hang out or hold a meeting.

Do you need to research a historical topic, learn business skills, prepare for a test, or learn something new? A Lincoln County Library System card gives access to digital resources through GoWYLD.net. GoWYLD has thousands of e-books, audiobooks, research materials, on-demand courses, and tools for early readers — all available through your computer, tablet and smartphone.

GoWYLD also offers free access to the Libby app where you can check out digital magazines, ebooks, and audiobooks.

The Lincoln County Library System branches offer programs for all ages. Programs for kids and teens can include story times, after school activities, movies, Lego days, take-and-make crafts and more.

Adults can attend book clubs, participate in art classes and writing workshops, attend informational programs, pick up a take-and-make craft, and more. Check out the calendars at LincLib.org for more information on what is being offered near you.

Currently, all branches are offering the Winter Reading Challenge: Get Yeti to Read. Participants of all ages can sign up and read for the chance to earn prizes.

How can you show love for the Lincoln County Library System? Visit one of the Lincoln County Library System branches, which are in Afton, Alpine, Cokeville, Kemmerer, LaBarge and Thayne. Bring a friend with you to introduce them to everything our library system offers. Visit our website to check your account, place holds, or see what’s new.

Visit GoWYLD.net and use the resources available. See if your library is in need of volunteers or donations. Check out a book or ten, movies, or one of the board and card games.
