Lady Rangers swim well in weekend meets, prep for this weekend

The Kemmerer girls swim team had a busy weekend, with competitions on both Friday and Saturday.

The Lady Rangers hosted the Lyman Lady Eagles on Friday, Sept. 29. This was the first time the girls were able to compete at the Kemmerer pool all season. The Lady Rangers came in second to Lyman, but had some strong individual and team performances.

In the 200-meter medley relay, Kemmerer’s team came in first, with senior Stevie Moyles, juniors Brooklyn Hagler and Alexis Krall and sophomore Teryn Thatcher claiming the top spot in the team event for the Lady Rangers.This same lineup of girls claimed first place in the 200-meter freestyle relay.

Stevie Moyles also claimed first place in the 200-meter freestyle. Senior Skylar Morgan earned first place in the 200-meter IM, with Brooklyn Hagler coming in second.

Skylar Morgan picked up second place in the 100-meter freestyle.Teryn Thatcher earned first place in the 100-meter breaststroke and third place in the 50-meter freestyle.Freshman Sydnie Julander continued to show her diving skills, earning first place in the event.

On Saturday, Sept. 30, the girls headed to Pinedale to compete against the Lady Wranglers, as well as Sublette County, Evanston, Cody, Powell, Riverton, Lander and Lyman.

The Kemmerer girls earned seventh place in the Pinedale event. The Lady Rangers continued their relay success, with the team of Stevie Moyles, Teryn Thatcher, Brooklynn Hagler and Alexis Krall earning fifth place in the 200-yard medley relay. This team also placed fifth in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

Freshman Sydney Julander placed sixth in the diving event. 

The swim team heads to Big Piney on Thursday, Oct. 5. Friday's meet against Evanston has been postponed.
