The Lady Rangers swim team had a busy week as they traveled to meets in Lyman and Pinedale.
Lyman Invite
The Kemmerer Lady Rangers swim team competed against Sublette County and Lyman at the Lyman Invite on Saturday, Sept. 8.
In the 200-yard medley relay, the team of freshman Addison Wilcox, junior Teryn Thatcher, senior Brooklynn Hagler and senior Alexis Krall earned second place with their time of 2:13.66, a big improvement from last week’s time of 2:37.17.
In the 100-yard breaststroke race, Hagler placed 2nd with time of 1:18.43, less than two seconds behind Lyman’s first-place finisher Samantha Weston.
The team of Thatcher, Krall, Hagler and Wilcox earned 3rd place in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
Krall finished 3rd in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:05.90, and Thatcher placed 6th with a time of 1:07.31. Both Krall and Thatcher already qualified for state in the event earlier this season.
Thatcher also improved her time from last meet in the 50-yard freestyle to finish 4th in 28.76 seconds.
In the 500-yard freestyle, Sophie Failoni earned 6th place with Shelby Swann right behind her in 7th place.
Krall placed 7th in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:45.51.
In the 400-yard freestyle relay, the team of Failoni, Cheyann Roose, Swann and Hagler earned 8th place.
Freshmen Wilcox and Roose competed in the 100-yard backstroke in Lyman.
Pinedale Invite
On Tuesday, Sept. 11, the Lady Rangers traveled to Pinedale to compete against the Sublette County swim team.
Kemmerer placed 1st in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 2:07.73, a full eight seconds ahead of Sublette County's second-place time.
Lady Ranger Alexis Krall finished first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:24.67. Sophie Failoni placed 11th in the event.
The girls dominated in the 50-yard freestyle. Teryn Thatcher finished first with a time of 28:19. Brooklynn Hagler finished second with a time of 28:52.
Addison Wilcox placed 5th and Laurel Clarke earned 6th place.
In the 100-yard butterfly, Clarke finished in fifth place.
Hagler won the 100-yard freestyle race with a time of 1:03.02. Addison Wilcox finished fourth place in the event, and Cheyann Roose came in 8th place.
Krall finished second in the 500-yard freestyle race.
The Kemmerer girls earned first place in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
Sophie Failoni came in third place in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:25.41.
Teryn Thatcher won the 100-yard breastroke race.
The Kemmerer girls finished second in the the 400-yard freestyle race at Pinedale.
The swimmers travel to Rawlins on Thursday, Sept. 13, to compete against Riverton and Rawlins.
On Friday, Sept. 14, the Lady Rangers will be at the Rock Springs Invitational, and on Saturday, Sept. 15, the Kemmerer girls will compete at the Green River Invitational.
