Lady Rangers prepare for State

Sydnie Julander competes in the diving event at the Kemmerer meet on Oct. 12. Julander and the rest of the Lady Rangers swim team competes at State in Gillette this weekend.

The Kemmerer Lady Rangers’ swim team will be competing at the state meet in Gillette on Thursday, Nov. 2, through Saturday, Nov. 4.

Kemmerer will have several swimmers representing in both individual and team relay events at State.

Lander is the defending state champion for the 3A conference, but Kemmerer plans to do their best to challenge the other teams.

Senior Stevie Moyles will swim in the 200 free and 100 backstroke. Moyles qualified for the 100 backstroke at the Lady Rangers’ very first meet of the season.

Junior Alexis Krall will also compete in the 50 free and the 100 free. Krall also qualified for the 100 free in the first meet of the season, and placed fifth at the conference meet.

Senior Skylar Morgan will compete in the 50 free and the 100 free.

Junior Brooklynn Hagler will swim in the 200 IM and 100 free.

Sophomore Teryn Thatcher will swim the 200 IM and the 100 breaststroke.

Thatcher placed first in the 100-yard breaststroke at the 3A West Conference swimming and diving championships on Saturday, Oct. 21, in Powell.

Freshman Sydnie Julander will compete in the diving event.

Moyles, Morgan, Krall, Hagler, Thatcher and Julander  will also compete in team relays.

Freshmen Victoria Peck, Sophie Failoni, and Shelby Swann will be joining the Lady Rangers at State to compete in relay events.

The Kemmerer Lady Rangers will compete against swimmers from Buffalo, Cody, Douglas, Lander, Lyman, Newcastle, Powell, Rawlins, Riverton, Sublette County and Worland.
