Lady Rangers host senior night

The Lady Rangers swim again! At the home meet in Kemmerer on Thursday, Oct. 12, the Lady Rangers swam fast and hard against rival Lyman.

The night was also special because seniors Stevie Moyles and Skylar Morgan, along with their families, were recognized in front of the crowd at the conclusion of the meet.

Coach Amanda Aimone praised the seniors for their hard work throughout their time on the team.

The girls started out by placing second in the 200-meter medley. In the 200-meter freestyle, freshman Sophie Failoni got third place.

Next, sophomore Teryn Thatcher earned a first place finish in the 200-meter IM.

The girls were then ready to dive into the fourth event, which was the 50-meter freestyle. Junior Alexis Krall took second and Stevie Moyles took first.

Freshman Sydnie Julander was the only diver to compete, and she performed well in front of a big crowd.

Then freshman Victoria Peck earned fourth place in the 100- meter free.

Stevie Moyles earned first place in the 400-meter free, with freshman Shelbie Swann not far behind in fourth place.

The Lady Rangers took first in the 200-meter free relay.

In the 100-meter backstroke, Sophie Failoni and Victoria Peck took fifth and sixth place, respectively.

Teryn Thatcher snatched first place in the 100-meter breaststroke. To finish up the meet, the Lady Rangers took first in the 400-meter free relay.

The Lady Rangers swam well but couldn’t quite score enough points to beat Lyman in the meet.

The next meet for the Lady Rangers will be the “last chance meet” on Oct. 19.

Then the Lady Rangers head to the conference meet in Powell on Oct. 20 and 21.
