The gymnasium was full of school spirit as the Kemmerer High School Lady Rangers cheerleading team hosted tryouts on Tuesday, May 22.
Some of the girls competing to make next year’s squad were cheer veterans, while others were hoping to join a cheer team for the first time.
The girls performed individual and team dances, cheers and stunts for the judges, their coaches and friends and family who came to support them.
“I know that sometimes in the past we’ve had closed tryouts,” said new head cheerleading coach Destinee Rogers. “But I also know that for some parents, this is your first time seeing your daughters perform, so I wanted to give you that chance.”
Rogers told the Gazette that the complete lineup for the 2018 – 2019 Lady Rangers cheer squad will be revealed during Fossilfest in June.
