Lady Rangers fall to Lyman

The Kemmerer Lady Rangers hosted the Lyman Lady Eagles for the Kemmerer homecoming volleyball game on Thursday, Sept. 21. The Lady Rangers lost to Lyman in three sets.

The team had a large home crowd of students and fans to cheer them on, but it wasn’t enough to help the Lady Rangers overcome a tough Lyman team.

The Lady Rangers started off strong in the first set, but lost a little momentum as the game progressed. They seemed to struggle with the basics a little against a Lyman team that was coming off a several-game winning streak, including a championship win at last week’s Star Valley Invitational. Kemmerer lost the first set 25-13.

Kemmerer came back in the second set ready to fight for every point. Senior Grace Gregory showed that she can fire off some powerful kills when the timing’s right. But ultimately the Lady Rangers’ lack of communication prevented them from picking up the win, and Lyman claimed the second set 25-17.

The home crowd continued to keep the Ranger spirit alive for the Lady Rangers’ third set against the Lyman Lady Eagles, but some defensive errors gave Lyman the third set and the game victory 25-9.

The Lady Rangers play the Pinedale Lady Wranglers at home on Saturday, Sept. 23, at noon.
