The Lady Rangers basketball team had an outstanding week at the Bridger Valley Tournament. Kemmerer won 40-37 against Big Piney on Dec. 10, and 55-12 against Wind River on Dec. 11.
“We were very pleased with the results,” coach Tim Fagnant said. “Anytime you begin a season with wins, it helps with the attitude in the coming weeks.”
Even though Fagnant was quarantined at home during the games, he watched the team play live. He said the team fought to overcome the pressure during the game and staying levelheaded.
“We will need to be able to face even more pressure,” Fagnant said. “Facing the 3A realm will be a wake-up call for us.” Fagnant said the team will prepare for future games by focusing on being more in sync and staying focused. He said the team needs to work on pushing the ball and getting into defense quickly.
“I am pleased with the returning varsity members,” Fagnant said. “We have 21 girls, now which means there can be more competition in practice. I am looking forward to seeing how the team develops throughout the games and the season.”
