The Lady Panthers hosted the Lady Rebels of Rich County on Thursday, Sept. 14.

It’s always a great battle when these two teams meet, and for those who witnessed Thursday night’s match, this was no exception.

Each game was an intense back-and-forth battle. The Lady Rebels took the first game and then the Lady Panthers took the second. The Lady Rebels won the third game and the Lady Panthers won the fourth game, so it came down to the fifth game to decide the winner.

The Lady Rebels had a large crowd of fans, and the Lady Panthers were also backed with great support. The Lady Panthers began to pull away, gaining momentum as their score came closer and closer to 15, but the Lady Rebels kept it alive. The Lady Panthers were able to dig deep and pull away just enough to take the big win.

The Lady Panthers then traveled to Star Valley on Saturday, Sept. 16, for the Lady Brave Invitational Tournament. The Lady Panthers were in a tournament pool with Sugar Salem, Evanston’s J.V. team and Star Valley.

Cokeville’s first match of the day was with Sugar Salem where they won one and dropped two. Their next opponents were the JV Lady Red Devils of Evanston. The Lady Panthers took this match in two games. Their final match of the pool was against the home team, the Star Valley Lady Braves. The Lady Panthers won the first game but fell in games two and three. This loss put them in the silver bracket  of the tournament that afternoon. Here they faced Ririe, where the Lady Panthers fell in two games. They also lost to Malad in three. This week the Lady Panthers will hit the road for conference matches with Little Snake River Valley on Friday, Sept. 22, and Saratoga and Encampment on Saturday, Sept. 23.
