KHS graduate Grenfell to speak at Lions Club recognition dinner

Posted

Amy Grenfell will speak at the annual Kemmerer Lions Club student recognition dinner on Wednesday, May 23. Grenfell is a Wyoming native who graduated from Kemmerer High School in 1994. Utilizing the generous John L. Kemmerer scholarship, Amy attended the University of Wyoming, where she completed bachelor’s degree studies in the field of marketing.

After graduation, Amy moved to Denver, Colo., where she worked for Accenture, a large, global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company. During Amy’s tenure with Accenture, she telecommuted and worked virtually for the company for eight years from her home in Evanston, Wyoming. Her career focused on project management, operations management, and quality, process, and continuous improvement activities.

Amy and her husband, Chuck, relocated from Denver to Evanston in 2005 to provide the gift of growing up in a Wyoming community to their children. Amy’s parents, Larry & Megan Alexander, sister and brother-in-law, Andi & Justin Vineyard, and nephews, Nicolas Vineyard and Tyler Vineyard, were also important reasons to relocate to southwest Wyoming. After 16 years in the management consulting industry and after receiving a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Wyoming, Amy made a career change in 2013 and was hired as the Director of Administrative Services for the City of Evanston.

Amy provides support to the mayor and City Council and oversees the divisions of City Clerk, Grant Writing, Urban Renewal/Main Street Program, Historic Preservation, Facilities Management and Economic Development.  Public service fulfills Amy’s desire to give back to her community and to “leave her campsite better than she found it.”

Amy currently serves as the chair of the Uinta County Economic Development Commission and volunteers her time with Rotary International and the Evanston Express Soccer Club. She is a voracious reader, enjoys yoga and spends any free time supporting her husband and children, Caitlin (13) and Alex (9), in their numerous passions and interests.
