The Lady Rangers volleyball team competed in the 2A West Regional Volleyball tournament in Lander on Friday, Oct. 27, and Saturday, Oct. 28.
Also competing in the regional tournament were Greybull, Wyoming Indian, Big Piney, Rocky Mountain, Wind River, Lovell and Shoshoni.
Kemmerer fought hard at regionals, but just missed qualifying for the state tournament.
The Lady Rangers’ conference record this season was 2–4, and the team’s overall record was 9–20.
Kemmerer started out the regional tournament on a good note on Friday afternoon.
The Lady Rangers beat the Shoshoni Wranglers 3–1, with set scores of 25–23, 25–14, 26–28 and 25–16.
On Friday night, the Lady Rangers faced off against the Big Piney Punchers, but fell to Big Piney 3-0, with set scores of 25–11, 25–14 and 25–23.
Big Piney would go on to win the 2A West Regional conference championship.
On Saturday morning, the Lady Rangers fought hard against the Lovell Bulldogs.
Kemmerer really didn’t want their season to end, so they battled it out for 5 games, but fell to the Bulldogs 3–2, with set scores of 25–19, 18–25, 12–25, 25–13 and 15–13.
The loss meant Kemmerer missed qualifying for the state tournament.
