Zyan Villarreal, Jade Villarreal, Malachi Villarreal and Eva Hunter swam at the ‘Sweetheart in the Tetons’ meet in Jackson last weekend.
Kemmerer Swim Club competed in Jackson on Feb. 9 and 10 at the Sweetheart in the Tetons meet. Eva Hunter competed in the 10 and under girls’ division and cut time in each of her events. Zyan Villarreal took 1st place in the 50-yard freestyle, 25-yard freestyle, 100-yard freestyle, 25-yard butterfly, and 100-yard IM. Zyan also took 3rd place in the 25-yard backstroke and 25-yard breaststroke in the 8-and-under boys’ division. Jade Villarreal took 1st place in the 50-yard freestyle, 100-yard freestyle, 50-yard breaststroke, 100-yard breaststroke, and 50-yard backstroke, and a 2nd in the 100-yard backstroke in the 10-and-under boys’ division. Malachi Villarreal placed 1st in the 200-yard IM, 100-yard backstroke, 200-yard free, and 50-yard backstroke. Malachi took 2nd place in the 50-yard freestyle, 50-yard butterfly, 100-yard IM, and 100-yard freestyle. Zyan, Jade and Malachi have all qualified to compete in Laramie for the USA State meet from March 1 to 3.
