The Lincoln County Fair was held in Afton from August 4 to 11. This year’s theme was “Footloose at the Lincoln County Fair.”

For most fair attendees, it’s a week of music, carnival rides, fried foods and livestock shows.

But for local 4-H kids, the fair is the result of an entire year of hard work.

The Hams Fork Hands 4-H members get up early and stay up late to make sure their pigs, goats, sheep and cattle are ready to be judged when it comes time for the big show in Afton.

“These kids and their parents work so hard with these animals,” said Scott Tharp, vice president of the Hams Fork Boosters. “The livestock sale on Saturday is the big finale. We appreciate all the support from the community.”
