The Kemmerer Ranger wrestling team claimed second place at the Carbon County Invitational in Hanna on Saturday, Feb. 10.

As has become tradition at wrestling tournaments this season, it was a battle between the Kemmerer Rangers and the Cokeville Panthers, who earned first place with 172.5 points.

The Ranger team racked up a total of 155.5 points at the tournament to secure the silver medal.

In the 120-pound weight class, Ranger sophomore Dawson Schramm beat Cokeville’s Wyatt Mackey, Pinedale’s Steven Metz and William Fish to earn first place in his weight division.

Colter Julian stepped up for the Rangers in the 126-pound weight class, beating Cokeville’s Eli Linford, Pinedale’s Victor Vejar and Lingle’s Gaven Niles to take home first place for the Rangers.

Proffit has won his weight class at every tournament for the Rangers this season, and Ranger fans are looking forward to seeing how he competes at the regional and state competitions.
