Kemmerer junior high wrestlers fourth at regional tournament

The Kemmerer Junior High wrestling team tied for fourth place at the regional tournament last weekend, with several wrestlers earning medals in their weight classes. The Kemmerer Junior High wrestling team competed in the 2018 Southwest Wyoming Middle School Regional Tournament on Saturday, Dec. 15.

The regional tournament was held at Rock Springs Junior High.

The Kemmerer Junior High team tied for 4th place with Jackson Hole Middle School.

Lincoln Middle School won the regional tournament, Rawlins Middle School came in 2nd place, and Rock Springs Junior High earned third place.

In the 70 class, Ethyn Perkins earned 1st place, Bryce Brown earned 3rd place and Austin Christen came in 4th place.

Perkins beat Lucas Todd from Lincoln Middle School to win the championship match.

Roany Proffit finished in 2nd place in the 80 class.

Karl Haslem won the 85 class.

Able Alvarado finished in 3rd place in the 125 class.

In the 130 class, Riggen Walker finished in 1st place. Walker beat Thomas May of Jackson Hole Middle School to win the championship match.

Derek Hagler earned 4th place in the 155 class.

Owen Barton earned 3rd place in the 160 class.

In the 170 class, Braxton Pope finished 2nd and Dylan Hagler earned 3rd.

Jonathan Platt finished in 2nd place in the 180 class.
