Katie Anne Krotz, age 17, died at her home on Wednesday, May 19. She was born on April 18, 2004, in Evanston, the daughter of Jenna Thatcher and Kevin Krotz.
Katie had a full head of beautiful red hair and a huge smile for everyone to see. She loved animals of all shapes and sizes. She wanted to be a veterinarian since around the age of 8. She loved playing with her brother and sister and all her many cousins.
She was so proud of how well she was doing in school and had just found out she could qualify for a scholarship with her ACT score. She has left a hole in our hearts that will never be filled.
She is survived by her mom, Jenna Bumgarner; her stepfather, Jeremy Gauthier; her brothers, Lane Krotz, Drake Gauthier and Hunter Gauthier; and a sister, Natalie Bumgarner. She is also survived by her grandparents, Bryan and Marsha Krotz, Anne (Bill) Powell, Mark and Verna Thatcher, Terry Powell, Luanne and Ralph Mair, and Ken and Marie Gauthier; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Kevin Lee Krotz.
Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, May 24, at Ball Family Chapel in Kemmerer. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 25, at St. James Episcopal Church in Kemmerer. Interment followed services at the South Lincoln Cemetery, Kemmerer.
Ball Family Chapel was entrusted to funeral arrangements.
